BOO! as promised (to some ah pek)
here is my update on ubin trip!
Met zhiru wantian & jude at tanah merah at 10. YC was late! According to zhiru tts nothing new.. haha..
After having a very early lunch (at 11.30am) at changi village we board the bumboat to ubin!!
Cut to the chase.. we got our bikes and set off to chek jawa..first time i've been there.. i think they renovated it! see for yourself!
this is chek jawa! altough u can see none of the cool things cos it's high tide.. maybe we shall come back another day during low tide!
the terrain in ubin is crazy! you go up slope down slope up slope down slope.. mud rocks everything!! even rambutan! lucky none of us got injured though we did crash into one another.. though gg downslope gives u an adrenaline rush! and free aircon.. haha.. oh ya.. the bikes were quite lousy! i had a hard time gg upslope cos my gear wouldn't change! v hard to paddle.. oh and we went up this treetop tower thing.. gives u a 360 deg view around.. quite cool! and mosquito free..and also a gd place to end ur life.. according to wantian..
oooh.. we came by this very nice little house! got sign say it's built in 1930s.. tudor style house.. tried taking pictures there.. i would want to live there! quaint & peaceful..
nice view right.. if only u can see the tower of stuff the camera is sitting on.. aft tt we rode a rd then it's time to go already..back to singapore.. so summary.. the day is full of.. slopes, suan-ing, laming, and fun!

a while back.. I came across this show.. whereby a woman who has just lost her husband learns to cope with life without her other half. Being a stay-at-home mom, she is constantly reminded of her husband, who spent alot of his last days at home. It got up to a point where she could barely stand being in the house. Then, the producers of the show decided to get an interior designer to re-decorate her house, to help her get through it. You might think that they would change the entire look of the house.. But no.. the designer brought in warm inviting tones of earthy yellow and beige..used soft lighting.. and most importantly, removed memories of her husband from the focal points in the space.. but yet placed them in intimate corners where they can still be looked at from time to time..
to help her remember her husband, the designer made a special "painting" that is used as the focal point for the living room. It was a simple white feather in the middle of a large frame. It represents the fragile nature of life.
Coincidentally, the designer had lost his best friend to the chaos in iraq. His friend, a photo journalist, was there to document the situation there.. Before the friend left for iraq, he gave the designer a framed picture of a lone cactus. It now hangs above the fireplace in the designer's home.. that is his "feather"

SCH IS NEAR!!!!
still so much in holiday mood..
some major things to be done before sch starts..
- RACE 5!
- pack my room (hur hur.. major work needed here)
- OAC BBQ! (i have to settle the pple and the food!)
- Matric fair booth..
- capture OAC videos..haha..funny stuff..
then is sch! oh ya lets not forget bidding.. hopefully can do a 3 day wk again..
look forward to BBQ! Can't wait to see Buzz again..
