BATU CAVES 20-23 may 2006

Day one:
Gathered at Kranji MRT at 10pm.
Got on bus 170..headed for woodlands checkpoint..
on and off the bus as we cleared customs and finally landed ourselves in JB!
next.. bus ride frm larkin terminal to KL!!
ZzzZZzzZz..in e nice comfy seat..
Arrived in KL at abt 5 am. Breakfast at a coffee shop.
PRATAS! yummy.. got quite stunned by the guy chopping away at the prata..
After breakfast, its off to the LRT to Putra terminal..
There, got picked up by a van.. and we're off to our chalet!
not exactly a chalet but they provide a package tour for adventurers!
Got there, settled down, and off we are for our first adventure..
Trekking through the terrain and the forest on the outside of the cave..
And that is one good exercise..
all of us sweat like mad..
one thing scary abt it.. the mosquitoes!!! they swarm all around you..
so up down up down we trek..some areas are quite steep and overlook the buildings below..
and finally.. we reach the hole we're supposed to do our abseiling..
equipment set up.. us briefed.. and one by one.. we go down.. deep down into the cave..
the path was SO UNEXPECTED!
its not your usual abseiling from the artificial rock wall..
the hole was small on top..and it opened into a large area inside the cave..
and the path was super uneven..
the top was relatively even.. but as you descend the terrain gets more erratic.
so there are parts where u have to lower yourself without feel sth stable at your feet.. to make things worse.. the cave is dark so for most of the journey down u can't see where you are stepping..
on top of that..
YOU ABSEIL ALONE!..
so basically if you're stuck no one can reach u and help you..can only guide you..
got a few scratches here and there..otherwise okay!
as we sat in e cave watching the people descend.. we keep shining the torch on the roof of the cave at the batS..there were alot of them! lucky they didn't attack us..
After that..off to the waterfall!!
our guide took us to "his" waterfall..
we had to trek another short while further upstream to the place..
it was nice! the water was super cold..refreshing!
sat on a rock and let the thousands of tiny water droplets rain on us..
calming effect! can meditate there..
Aft tt.. cleaned up went back to chalet then walked to giant for dinner!
had chicken rice.. not bad.. and shopped ard in GIANT!
its really Gigantic..has everything you need..
then we crammed into this shop and started wow-ing at the letter pads!!
cheap and nice!! i bought four packs..haha..
headed back..washed up..and SLP TIME!

BATU CAVES DAY 2
Rise n shine to the beautiful scenery outside!!
monkeys on the zinc roof below, rows of shophouses and a mountain as backdrop...
time go get ready for climbing!
haoting was still good! though she keep claiming she lan diao already..
it was fun sitting on e mat, talking about what to do later.. encouraging those on e wall..
Hard to put the feeling in words..
i belayed charles! and i nearly flew..
and he was so fast i had to keep taking in the rope!
stopped climbing at abt 2..
went back washed up..
headed for KLCC!!
IT WAS HUGE! so huge tt haoting n i didn't know where to begin.. fran n char went for lunch first.. tt was after we bought tix for da vinci code at 6.50..
Isetan has 5 storeys! and we keep wow-ing at everything in the supermarket area..
and thats where the curse of KLCC starts! we step into isetan and haoting said sth smells nice! soon we saw a popcorn machine n she said sth like "on no wonder i hear e popcorn juz now"....n i start laughing..then later at a bread shop.. i said sth like "i can hear e breaD"..
walked around more n soon it was time for e movie!
we went up there.. n they say got technical problem!! so angry! got a refund..
went into kinokuniya..it has an automated book search system that prints out details of the book u searched for! very useful..
browse all e bookS.. bought one! ha..and some poker cards..
went down to the fountain area to take photos and sit around..
very nice! i think the petronas look nicest at night..
time's running late.. so went to buy cinnabons and met up with the rest..
headed for chinatown.. which has nothing much if you're not interested in t shirts, sports shoes, bags, watches and wallets.
Found a shop at a corner selling chinese pasties and stuff.. bought some pineapple pastries that was not bad! it had many other kinds of pastries with diff fillings too..went back to gather at mac..
Soon, its time to head for the bus terminal..
bus ride was far from good...
IT WAS FREEZING!! we were wearing long pants, a tshirt and a jacket..
but it was still not enough.. i couldn't even sleep..
arrived at larkin.. so happy to get off the bus..
took another bus that goes to bugis aft clearing customs..
and soon.. its time to part! n me n fran took 12 home..
end of all the fun~ :(

Okay.. seems like i din really blog about what happened aft exams..
so here goes!

5th may FridaY!
KBOX WITH 30/03 at cine..
highest turnout rate by the girls..
only joanna, jan, nuriahtu and vanessa did not come!
the room was so full!!
we sang and jumped ard on the sofa..
then we went to take neoprints!
the machine v fun!
i had to leave for ANOTHER k box session at tamp wif my psychmates..
i'm nuts!!! sang a very cute song by jordan chan..
the MV super cute..

next up..
bikinG! 7th May
wif ht fran n jass!
got super burnt..
we saved a fish at bedok jetty!
it was on the ground when we got there..
we tot it was dead.. but den it started jumping ard..
then hao poured some water on it..
and we decided to throw it back into the water..
miraculously..
it swam away once it hit e water!!!
haa.. so amazing..

Next up..
dinner with NA gals..
not exactly dinner la..
went to job agency wif mitch n sc..
lunch was rockery hotdog bun!
its nice!
cos the bread is hot n soft.
Hunted ard for my bdae present!
nice unique black bag..thanks girls!!!!
played arcade.. pool and walked ard..
dinner at lerk thai~!! egg finally came..
nice! though nothing compared to what u get in thailand..
had tom yam soup
nice but not sour enough! ha..
olive rice was nice! very aromatic..
Beef noodle.. nice n sweet..
phad thai.. quite okay..
had dessert too.. tapioca and glutinous rice + mango..
abt 10 bucks per person..
not bad deal!


okay more later.. tired..

curiosity kills the fish..
seriously..
i yearn to understand and know more..
but the truth is usually ugly..
sometimes not ugly..
but disappointing..
